Seeing a message saying the app “can not be opened,” “may contain malware,” or “can not be verified”?

If you see this message when installing ASUS WebStorage Sync (Mac version), please don’t worry —the software itself has no known security risks. This notification is generated by macOS’s built-in security protection system. We are actively optimizing the app and completing the latest Apple verification process. Once the review is finished, an updated version will be released to ensure a smoother installation and full compatibility with macOS.

What you can do:
1️⃣ Download the ASUS WebStorage Sync from ASUS WebStorage official website to ensure authenticity and version integrity.

2️⃣ Allow the app to open manually, if you see a security prompt during installation, follow Apple’s official steps to allow the app to open:

  • On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
  • Click Privacy & Security in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down).
  • In the Security section, locate the alert and click Open Anyway.
  • You’ll see an option to Force Open (available for about an hour after you first try to open the app).
  • Enter your Mac login password, then click OK to confirm.
