Resolve the "A file named 'XXXX' already exists in the destination" message on ASUS WebStorage Drive

If you're using the ASUS WebStorage Drive (desktop application) and run into some trouble while trying to move, copy, or create a file, you might see this message: "The destination already has a file named "<file_name>" but you can't actually find this file in the folder. Even if you choose "Replace," it doesn’t seem to fix the problem.

This usually happens due to a folder index error, which can cause display issues or delays.

How to fix it
You can try rebuilding the folder index to sort this out. Just follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to your ASUS Cloud ID.
  2. Find the ASUS WebStorage Drive icon in the Windows taskbar.
  3. Click on the gear icon (⚙) in the upper right corner to open the settings menu.
  4. Then, select[Rebuild folder index].
  5. Wait until see the notification “Index rebuild completed”

After that, you should be able to move, copy, or create the file.
