How to sync files between ASUSTOR NAS and ASUS WebStorage?

If you have an ASUSTOR NAS that is compatible with ASUS WebStorage, you can follow these instructions to sync your data between the two platforms, back up data from ASUS WebStorage to ASUSTOR NAS, or back up data from ASUSTOR NAS to ASUS WebStorage.

Install ASUS WebStorage on ASUSTOR NAS from APP Central

  1. Log in to ASUSTOR Data Master (ADM).
  2. Open APP Central.
  3. Search and install the ASUS WebStorage APP.EN_NAS0__1_.png

 

Log in to ASUS WebStorage

  1. Click on ASUS WebStorage APP.
  2. Enter your ASUS Cloud ID and password.EN_NAS2__1_.png

 

 

In the main menu, you can enable the following functions:

  1. Two-way sync: Keeps data synchronized between ASUS WebStorage > "MySyncFolder" and ASUSTOR NAS > "MySyncFolder".
  2. Download the changes made in the cloud only: Backs up data stored in ASUS WebStorage > "Shared by me" and "Shared with me" to ASUSTOR NAS > "Collaboration Folder".
  3. Upload the changes made on NAS only: Backs up data stored in ASUSTOR NAS > [NAS model name folder] to ASUS WebStorage > "Backup" > "Personal device" > "NAS model name folder".EN_NAS1__1_.png

 

  • Two-way sync synchronizes the data between ASUS WebStorage > [MySyncFolder] and ASUSTOR NAS > [MySyncFolder], so if you add or delete a file from one side, it will also be added or deleted on the other side.

    1. Open "File Explorer".
    2. Select "Public" on the left side menu.
    3. Click "ASUS WebStorage".
    4. Choose your "ASUS Cloud ID".
    5. Click "MySyncFolder".
    6. Right-click and select "Upload".EN_NAS3__1_.png
  • The files and folders in the "Shared by me" and "Shared with me" folders in ASUS WebStorage will be backed up to the "Collaboration Folder" in ASUSTOR NAS.

    If you delete a file from ASUS WebStorage, the same file in ASUSTOR NAS will still remain because the backup process is one-way, from ASUS WebStorage to ASUSTOR NAS.

    1. Open "File Explorer".
    2. Select "Public" on the left side menu.
    3. Click "ASUS WebStorage".
    4. Choose your "ASUS Cloud ID".

  • Data from ASUSTOR NAS is backed up to ASUS WebStorage in the [Backup] > [Personal device] > [NAS model name folder] path.

    To delete a backed-up file from ASUS WebStorage, you first need to delete the same file from the [NAS model name folder] on your ASUSTOR NAS and wait for the message "Local file deleted" to appear.
